Community Safety &Child Safety Standards

ChatRook is for safe communication and collaboration. These standards explain what is prohibited, how to report a concern, and how we respond across the website and mobile apps.

If someone is in immediate danger

Contact local emergency services or law enforcement first. Then report the account or content to ChatRook so we can take platform action. ChatRook support is not an emergency service.

Respect people and consent

Do not harass, bully, stalk, threaten, hatefully target, sexually exploit or repeatedly contact someone who has asked you to stop. Obtain consent before recording or sharing another person's private communication.

Protect privacy and identity

Do not expose private information, impersonate another person, take over accounts, distribute intimate content without consent, or use another person's image, voice, health or genetic information without authority.

Keep harmful content off ChatRook

Do not distribute malware, scams, spam, violent threats, instructions intended to cause imminent harm, illegal goods, sexual exploitation, or content that facilitates trafficking or abuse.

Use collaboration tools responsibly

These standards apply to profiles, chats, calls, rooms, stories, tasks, comments, files, whiteboards, calendars, chess, invitations, AI-assisted features and every other ChatRook surface.

Zero tolerance

Child sexual abuse and exploitation

ChatRook has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

Users must not create, upload, request, possess, store, share, sell, link to or facilitate CSAM; sexualize a minor; groom or solicit a minor; engage in sexual extortion; facilitate child trafficking; or use ChatRook to arrange sexual contact with a minor. Attempted, synthetic, altered or self-generated exploitative content involving a minor is also prohibited.

If you encounter suspected CSAE or CSAM, report it immediately. Do not save, screenshot, download or forward the material. Provide the account, message, room or story reference instead. We may remove access without notice, preserve relevant evidence as permitted by law, terminate accounts, and report apparent CSAM to NCMEC and/or appropriate authorities when legally required.

ChatRook follows applicable child-safety laws and cooperates with competent authorities when a valid legal or emergency process requires action.

How to report

Send a useful safety report

  1. 1Where a Report option is available, open the message, profile, story or room menu (⋮ or More), choose Report, select the closest safety category and add useful context.
  2. 2Use Block where available to stop direct interaction while the report is reviewed. Leave or end a room or call if remaining there is unsafe.
  3. 3If that surface does not yet show a Report control, use the Contact form and select Child safety or Abuse, harassment or illegal content, or email [email protected].
  4. 4Include the account name, message or room link/code, date and time, and a short description. Do not download, copy or forward suspected CSAM in order to report it.

Enforcement

How ChatRook may respond

We consider the content, context, severity, risk of harm, account history and applicable law. We may act while an investigation is ongoing and may take one or more of these actions:

  • Limit distribution, remove content or disable access to a feature.
  • Warn, restrict, suspend or terminate accounts and prevent repeat abuse.
  • Preserve relevant records when permitted or required for an investigation.
  • Escalate credible imminent threats and report apparent CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and/or appropriate law-enforcement authorities when required by law.
  • Respond to valid legal requests and cooperate with competent authorities.

If you believe an enforcement decision affecting your account was mistaken, contact us from the account email with the case number and a concise explanation.

Reporting choices

Child safety and other abuse

Choose Child safety for suspected underage users, grooming, sexualization of minors, CSAE or CSAM. Choose Abuse, harassment or illegal content for threats, hate, stalking, impersonation, scams, non-consensual intimate content or other harmful conduct.

Reports should be made in good faith. Do not submit knowingly false reports, coordinate mass reporting, or use reporting tools to harass another person.
