Request account deletion

Submit a verified request to close your ChatRook account and delete or de-identify associated personal data, subject to limited legal and security retention.

How the verified request works

You must be signed in and verify control of the account email before the close-account request is scheduled.

Step 1

Sign in and open Settings

Open your account settings and select Close Account. If you cannot sign in, contact support from the email address associated with the account.

Step 2

Request a verification code

Choose a reason if you wish, then request a one-time code. Sending a code alone does not deactivate the account.

Step 3

Verify the account email

Enter the one-time code sent to the registered email address. Never send that code to another person, including support.

Step 4

Confirm close-account request

After successful verification, the account is deactivated and a deletion request is scheduled with a 30-day grace period.

During the 30-day grace period

The account is disabled from ordinary use. You may request reactivation during the grace period. If it is not reactivated, the deletion request remains scheduled for processing; contact support if you need its current status.

Need Help?

Use the verified contact form or email [email protected] from the account email. We may request limited information to confirm identity, but we will never ask for your password.

Scope and limited exceptions

What your account-deletion request covers

Subject to the limited retention reasons below, a verified request is intended to remove or de-identify personal information associated with the account from active product use. Collaborative records may be de-identified when removal would affect content owned by another user or workspace.

Data covered by the request

The request applies to personal data associated with the account, including:

  • Account profile, credentials, preferences, presence information and registered mobile push tokens.
  • Messages, uploaded media and files, stories, replies, contact links and invitations associated with the account.
  • Room and call participation, tasks, comments, attachments, calendar entries, whiteboards and other workspace activity associated with the account.
  • Optional DNA or genetic uploads, derived health or ancestry reports, transcripts, recaps and AI-assisted feature inputs or outputs associated with the account.

Data that may be retained

We may keep the minimum information reasonably necessary for:

  • Payment, subscription, tax, accounting, refund and transaction obligations.
  • Fraud prevention, account security, abuse investigations, safety reports and enforcing legal rights.
  • A legal hold, court order, regulatory request, dispute or another applicable legal obligation.
  • A restricted record showing that the request was received, verified and handled.
  • Operational backup and disaster-recovery copies until they age out under the applicable recovery schedule; no fixed individual backup-purge date is promised.

Need the status of a request?

Contact [email protected] or use our verified contact form. Include the email address on the account, but do not send a password, verification code, payment-card number or genetic file.
